Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical disk device in which failures of a writing access and a reading access caused by defects of an optical disk and external vibration are appropriately processed and to provide an image pickup unit having the optical disk device.
SOLUTION: When prescribed access failure primary factors such as a failure of servo control and a failure in a clock signal reproducing process or the like are repeatedly generated in the retrial of an access in the vicinity of a prescribed range on an optical disk 20, it is judged that an access is failed due to the defects of the optical disk. Thus, the failure of an access caused by the defects of the optical disk 20 is clearly discriminated from the failure of an access caused by other factors. Therefore, an appropriate processing can be performed for the failure of the access caused by the defects of the optical disk 20.
