To provide an optical disk device in which an exact synchronization code can be recorded.
The optical disk device has record mechanisms 14, 20, 28 for recording data in an optical disk with a synchronization code inserted in data with fixed interval and a system controller 10 controlling so that when data capacity in a data buffer 30 becomes smaller than the first prescribed capacity, recording is interrupted at a position P before several bytes of the synchronizatioin code, after that, when data capacity is restored larger than the second prescribed capacity, recording is restarted from an interruption position. For recording an exact synchronization code, the synchronization code is not recorded at a record restart point at which recording operation is unstable and the synchronization code is recorded after recording operation becomes stable following recording data of several bytes.
