Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical disk recording/reproducing device and an optical disk recording/reproducing method for performing the learning process so as to optimize each parameter such as a recording power in accordance with the loaded optical disk.
SOLUTION: By this optical disk recording/reproducing device, data are recorded on the specified area of the optical disk in accordance with laser beams irradiated from an optical head, and the data are written into the specified area of a loaded new optical disk at least on the basis of the power value of a default value and plural power values stepwise different from this default power value, then they are read out to obtain the number of error lines, and the power value is obtained in accordance therewith (S6). Next, three kinds of bit error rates are obtained by the further writing/reading process from this power value, and the fine control is made for the power value on the basis of these rates (S7). Thus, the power value very much suitable for the optical disk is obtained from the learning.
