Title:
OPTICAL DISK DRIVING DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3887380
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the recording speed of an optical disk of a constant line density system such as a CD-R or the like and to enable power control so that the optimum recording laser power is obtained in accordance with the linear speed when recording .
SOLUTION: An optical disk drive irradiates the track on the disk with a laser beam and performs recording/reproducing of information with almost the constant line density. The device is provided with a laser power calibration means recording of the prescribed number of times with different recording laser power for each step by rotating the disk at a prescribed linear speed on a track of the prescribed radius position on the disk prior to recording of information, and a recording position is reproduced and a characteristic value about the reproduced signal is detected. The device is also provided with a control means in which the disk is rotated with the prescribed number of rotation at the time of recording information and recording of information is performed with a corrected optimum recording laser power in accordance with a linear speed on the recording track.
