Abstract:
To provide an optical element having a resin layer which is superior in light extraction efficiency when used in a UV light-emitting device, and which is suppressed in degradation owing to UV light.SOLUTION: An optical element is arranged for use in a UV light-emitting device. The optical element comprises a resin composition layer and an optical member which allows UV light to pass therethrough. On a condition that the resin composition layer is fired at a temperature which causes the resin composition layer to harden to make a resin layer, the resin layer has a refraction index nd(R) of 1.37 or larger to d-rays (having a wavelength of 587.6 nm). In the resin layer, a content of an organic solvent is 0.3 mass% or less. The resin composition layer is formed in a region making at least a part of a surface of the optical member. The optical member is glued with another member through the resin composition layer.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
