Abstract:
To prevent an optical fiber cord from being damaged in a terminal processing in which the cord is taken out by tearing a sheath covering the outer periphery of the cord.
The optical fiber cable is equipped with a tension member 2, two optical fiber cords 3 arranged parallel to the tension member 2, a sheath 4 formed in such a manner as to cover the outer periphery of the tension member 2 and the optical fiber cord 3 and shaped nearly elliptically in the outer circumference, and a tear grooves 10a, 10b formed in two places in the inner circumference of the sheath 4 for the purpose of easily taking out the optical fiber cord 4 at the terminal processing.
