To provide a multifiber optical connector provided with a ferrule in which an optical fiber of a specified fiber number can correctly be inserted into a plurality of optical fiber holes of the ferrule without interchange, and to provide its manufacturing method.
In this multifiber optical connector, in which optical fibers 2a are fitted to the optical fiber ferrule 1 with a plurality of optical fiber holes 4 for positioning optical fibers formed therein, guide groves 5 continuing to the optical fiber holes and window holes 6a, 6b through which an adhesive resin is injected, optical fiber insertion holes 14 communicating with the guide grooves are arranged in an intermediate part of the guide grooves 5. Also, these optical fiber insertion holes 14 are formed through a partition 10 for dividing the window hole into two, and the adhesive resin is injected into the front side of the window hole divided by the partition 10, thereafter the optical fiber 2a is inserted.
