Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide an optical fiber sensor head which has excellent heat resistance, maintains an optical fiber cord without being pulled off over a long period of time even at a high temp., does not mechanically damage optical fibers and does not impair the mechanical strength of a mouthpiece.
CONSTITUTION: This optical fiber sensor head has the optical fiber cord 1 consisting of a plastic optical fiber 6 and a coating material 5 for coating the optical fiber 6 and the mouthpiece 2 fixed to the end of the optical fiber cord 1. The mouthpiece 2 has a through-hole 3 to which the optical fiber cord 1 is inserted and fixed and the front end side of the through-hole 3 has a small diameter for inserting the optical fiber. The base part side of the through-hole 3 has a diameter slightly larger than the outside diameter of the coating material 5. The end of the optical fiber cord 1 is fixed to the mouthpiece 2 by a packing 4 inserted into the spacing between the optical fiber cord 1 and the through-hole 3 on the base part side.
