Abstract:

To provide an optical frequency comb generation device for obtaining an optical comb of high S/N ratio.

Pulse laser light output by synchronous mode laser oscillation of a laser light source 10 is optically amplified into a high power by an optical fiber amplifier 30A employing reverse excitation and then is input to a highly nonlinear optical fiber 40A. The pulse laser light input to the highly nonlinear optical fiber 40A has the band widened by a nonlinear optical phenomenon appearing in the highly nonlinear optical fiber 40A, whereby a wide-band optical comb of high S/N ratio is obtained.
