To effectively suppress recording noise in relation to an optical information recording medium.
The optical information recording medium (74) includes: a recording layer (93) to record information; a reflection layer (95) to reflect luminous flux having passed through the recording layer (93); and a protective layer (94) which is disposed between the recording layer (93) and the reflection layer (95), and has a thickness set so as to form an interference pattern formed by interference between luminous flux before reflection on the reflection layer (95) and luminous flux after reflection on the reflection layer (95) inside its own layer. As a result, when the medium is irradiated with luminous flux to be record signal light or reference light, the recording noise of information produced by interference between irradiation luminous flux and luminous flux reflected with the reflection layer (95) is effectively suppressed.
