Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an optical low-pass filter with which miniaturization may be embodied and which is good in a filter characteristic by forming diffraction gratings at a double refraction plate of a quartz crystal, etc. SOLUTION: The main surface of the double refraction plate 1 consists of the quartz crystal of a rectangular shape. Its optical axis and the main surface have an angle of 45 deg.. The double refraction plate is machined to separate light in a horizontal direction. The gratings 11 of a metallic material of aluminum, etc., are formed in a horizontal direction on the one main surface of the double refraction plate 1 by means, such a vacuum vapor deposition method, so as to separate light in a perpendicular direction. The gratings of the metallic material of aluminum, etc., are likewise formed in the horizontal direction on the another main surface of the double refraction plate 1 by the means, such the vacuum vapor deposition method, so as to separate the light in a diagonal 45 deg. direction. The sepn. of the light in plural directions is executed with the one double refraction plate 1 by the light sepn. function by the double refraction plate 1 and the light sepn. function by the diffraction gratings 11 formed on the surface of the double refraction plate 1 according to such constitution.
