Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simultaneously achieve the securing of the picture quality of a projected image and the making of device constitution compact in size. SOLUTION: Mirrors 4B, 4G, 4R immersed in a liquid 8 having a prescribed a refractive index color-resolve a light source light beam into B, G, R light beams and also polarize and separate respective color light beams to respectively emit the S-polarized light beams of the respective color light beams in the different directions. A reflection type light valve 5 respectively modulates the S-polarized light beams of the respective color light beams. The modulated light beams of the respective light beams are made incident on the mirrors 4B, 4G, 4R again to be analyzed. The analyzed light beams are projected on a screen 7 with a projection lens 6.
