Abstract:

To accurately align the optical axis of an optical part with that of a lens.

An optical module includes a wiring board 30 composed of a flexible board 32 and a wiring pattern 34 formed on it, and an electrode 24 which is electrically connected to the wiring pattern 34. It also includes an optical chip 10 containing an optical unit 12, and a base material 40 that holds a lens 42 for condensing on the optical unit 12. The surface of the optical chip 10 that has the electrode 24 faces the wiring board 30. The wiring board 30 includes a translucent part 38 at such position as overlaps with the optical unit 12. The base material 40 is fixed to the optical chip 10 through the wiring board 30.
