Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To adjust the intensity of a local optical signal inputted to a coherent receiver appropriately.SOLUTION: An optical receiver includes a coherent receiver 14. The coherent receiver 14 includes an X polarization hybrid 18X and a Y polarization hybrid 18Y to which a reception signal and a local optical signal are inputted, and from which output signals (IX, QX, IY, QY) corresponding to te wavelength of the local optical signal are outputted. The optical receiver further includes a variable wavelength light source 20 outputting the local optical signal, and a control section 42 for adjusting the intensity of the local optical signal. A local attenuator 22 is provided between the variable wavelength light source 20 and coherent receiver 14. The control section 42 adjusts attenuation in the local attenuator 22, based on the intensity of the reception signal, and the intensity of the output signal, and adjusts the intensity of the local optical signal inputted to the coherent receiver 14.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
