Abstract:
To provide an optical recording medium which can be applied to a high-density optical disk system using a semiconductor laser having an oscillation wavelength in a shorter wavelength than a usual wavelength band and is excellent in light-resistance and shelf stability, and to provide a recording medium for a CD-R medium which enables execution of recording and reproduction in the existing system and also enables execution of reproduction alone in the high-density optical disk system of the next generation.
At least one kind of azo metal chelate compound shown by general formula (1), or the compound and an organic dyestuff having a maximum absorption wavelength in 680-750 nm, are contained in a recording layer.
