Title:
OPTICAL SCANNER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3853740
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To correct the nonuniformity of the light quantity distributions on a photoreceptor by a change in the F-number of an over-field optical system to a level substantially free of problems.
SOLUTION: A filter 28 provided with an absorber 46 is disposed between a convex lens 26 and a polygon mirror 24. The absorber 46 is formed by coating of a thin metallic film and is set to lower the transmittance distribution in the central part past the optical axis and to raise the transmittance distributions at both ends. Accordingly, the nonuniformity of the light quantity distributions on the photoreceptor 32 by the change in the F-number can be corrected to the level substantially free of problems in setting the incident angle β in the scanning direction toward the deflection surface 24A to 0°.
