To provide an optical scanning device which reduces stress of a cover member caused by an elastic member for hermetically sealing a space between a notch portion formed on a side wall of an optical box and an electric cable.
An optical scanning device 1 includes: a light source 3; a deflection member 6 for deflecting a light beam emitted from the light source; an optical box 30 for holding the light source and the deflection member; a cover member 49 attached to the optical box in such a manner as to oppose to an upper surface 84 of a side wall 70 of the optical box and adapted to close an opening of the optical box; an electric cable 82 for electrically conducting an internal element of the optical box and an external element thereof; a notch portion 83 which is formed on the side wall from a discontinuous part 92 formed on the upper surface of the side wall of the optical box to a bottom part 97 of the optical box and adapted to pass the electric cable; elastic members 80, 180 and 280 which are accommodated in the notch portion and adapted to hermetically seal a space between the electric cable and the notch portion; and a regulation part 95 which is defined by the upper surface of the side wall, the discontinuous part and the notch portion and adapted to regulate the elastic members in a direction opposite to the cover member.
