Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical signal operation circuit and method and an information recording medium.
SOLUTION: Medium 121 of an optical signal operation circuit 101 contains a component that the change in the refractive index is proportional to the square of the intensity of the electric field. First, second and third optical waveguides 111, 112, 113 are arranged so that sections capable of interfering with each other are mode parallel and an equal interval through the medium 121, and receive optical signal inputs having the same phase, and the same fundamental wavelength from one ends, and output optical signal outputs from the other ends. The length of the interfering section satisfies a prescribed condition. The OR of the AND of the optical signal inputs imparted to the first, third optical wave-guides 111, 113 are outputted as the optical signal output of the second optical waveguide 112.
