Abstract:
PURPOSE: To recognize a coupling position accurately in non-contact without connecting respective positioning measurement equipments in light coupling light transmitting passages when the respective light transmitting passages arranged in a connector unit and a master side connector are coupled optically with each other.
CONSTITUTION: On the coupling edge surfaces of optical fibers 2 arranged in a connector unit 3, position detecting markers 6 are formed in a constant positional relationship from the centers of cores 2a, and core 2a positions of the optical fibers 2 to be coupled optically can be recognized indirectly by detecting these marker 6 positions.
