Abstract:
PURPOSE:To enhance a self-shape holding property by forming a core material and clad material of a high-polymer material having a three-dimensional crosslinked struc ture with the glass transition temp. of room temp. or below and rubber-like elasticity and forming a clad material coating layer of a high-polymer material having a three- dimensional crosslinked structure of a specific glass transition temp. CONSTITUTION:Both the core material and the clad material consist of the high- polymer material of the three-dimensional crosslinked structure with the glass transition temp. of the room temp. or below and the rubber-like elasticity and the clad material coating layer is constituted of the high-polymer material having the three-dimensional crosslinked structure of 40 to 80 deg.C glass transition temp. (Tg). The coating material of the high-polymer material having the three-dimensional crosslinked structure is limited to the 40 to 80 deg.C range of the glass transition temp. (Tg), but the Tg is required to be >=40 deg.C in terms of the shape holding thereof when the material is used at the room temp. (about <=30 deg.C) or below. On the other hand, the reason for limiting the Tg to <=80 deg.C lies in that the heating up to a high temp. at every time of deforming of the material is difficult if the temp. is above the limited range. The optical waveguide itself can maintain its specific shape in this way.
