Title:
OPTICALLY RESPONSIVE RESIN FILM FOR LIGHT DIMMING
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH0854707
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a resin film which reacts semipermanently to UV and can be used over a long period of time by working glass contg. silver halide and having photochromic function into a bead shape and dispersing the resultant beads in a transparent resin.

CONSTITUTION: Glass beads 2 of about. 100μm size having photochromic function are added to the stock of a transparent resin and the stock is polymerized and formed into a film 1. In other way, the photochromic glass beads 2 are added to a water-soluble transparent adhesive, stirred and applied to one side of a transparent resin film 1. One side of the resin film 1 may be coated with silver halide having photochromic function by vacuum deposition. Unlike a polymer type photochromic material the resultant transparent resin film for light control reacts semipermanently to UV owing to silver halide and can be used over a long period of time.
