Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve tracking operation by avoiding instability of a servo system control loop.
SOLUTION: A tracking loop signal includes a different channel feedforward signal and a different channel feedback signal. A feedforward cosine term with respect to one channel is transmitted through a low pass filter in order to obtain its average value. A predetermined step is given to a feedforward sine term with respect to the other channel, and a response of the feedforward cosine is monitored. The feedforward cosine is integrated in order to evaluate what amount of 'cross talk' exists between the two channels. An obtained integral sum is used as a feedback element for adjusting sine and cosine terms to be inserted into the channels.
