To obtain an oral cavity biofilm inhibitor capable of controlling oral cavity biofilm as a cause of oral cavity diseases and excellent in the microbicidal effect on microorganism in the biofilm in the oral cavity, and to obtain a composition for the oral cavity formulated with the inhibitor and thus effective for mitigating and preventing oral cavity diseases.
The oral cavity biofilm inhibitor comprises (a) glycerol phosphate, its derivative or a salt thereof and (b) a phenolic bactericide as active ingredients. The composition for the oral cavity formulated with this inhibitor is also provided. The composition, for the purpose of inhibiting oral cavity biofilm, is effective for mitigating and preventing oral cavity diseases including periodontoses, dental caries and halitosis.
