Abstract:

To provide an oral dosage form of entacapone, used for the treatment of Parkinson's disease, and methods for the preparation thereof.

The method for preparing granules comprising entacapone, as the sole active ingredient, includes (i) preparing a mixture of entacapone with a binder and optionally one or more other excipients and granulating the mixture with a granulating liquid or granulating entacapone together with one or more optional other excipients with a granulating liquid comprising a binder; (ii) drying and optionally screening the granules of step (i).
