To provide an organic EL display device and its manufacturing method equipped with an upper transparent electrode and its auxiliary electrode, having a high aperture ratio, and moreover, is easy to manufacture.
The organic EL display device 10 is provided with a substrate 12; lower electrodes 14 arranged in a stripe shape on the substrate; an insulating layer 18 arranged on each lower electrode; upper transparent electrodes 28 arranged in a stripe form, in a direction crossing the lower electrodes; an organic EL layer 26 arranged between the lower electrodes and the upper transparent electrodes; an auxiliary electrode 20 for the upper electrode, arranged on the insulating layer for connecting with the upper transparent electrode; and insulating barrier ribs 24, arranged on each of either the insulating layer or the auxiliary electrode for the upper electrode with the width widened at the upper part. The upper electrode and the auxiliary electrode for the upper electrode are connected on the inner side of a part, where the width of the insulating barrier rib is widened the most, between the most widened part of the barrier rib and the insulating layer.
