Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide hybrid organic-inorganic core-shell nano-particles applicable to, e.g., a coating composition having an anti-reflection function and an encapsulated medicine.SOLUTION: A method of making hybrid organic-inorganic core-shell nano-particles comprises the steps of: a) providing colloidal organic particles as a template; b) adding at least one inorganic oxide precursor; and c) forming an inorganic shell layer from the precursor on the template to obtain core-shell nano-particles. The colloidal particles comprise a synthetic organic polyampholyte, and have an average particle size of 5 to 500 nm as measured by dynamic light scattering (DLS). The synthetic organic polyampholyte comprises at least one comonomer having a positively charged group, and at least one comonomer having a negatively charged group.SELECTED DRAWING: None
