To provide a light-weight and large-area organic photoelectric conversion element with high power generation efficiency and high durability by restraining the deterioration of a transparent electrode in the organic photoelectric conversion element caused by high-temperature treatment at around 150 degrees, improving high adhesiveness between a transparent plastic substrate and the transparent electrode, and by restraining the penetration of at least one of water vapor and oxygen of the transparent plastic substrate.
In the organic photoelectric conversion element in which at least the transparent plastic substrate, the transparent electrode, an organic semiconductor layer, and a counter electrode are layered in the order, the transparent electrode is formed by layering at least a transparent conductive thin-film layer, a metal thin-film layer and a transparent conductive thin-film layer in the order. In addition, a barrier layer is provided between the substrate and the transparent electrode.
