To provide an organic photoelectric conversion element capable of effectively utilizing incident light to obtain excellent energy conversion efficiency.
This photoelectric conversion element is equipped with a transparent substrate 2, a transparent electrode layer 3, a photoelectric conversion layer 4, and a metal electrode layer 5. A re-reflecting layer 6 to re-reflect a beam reflected by the metal electrode layer 5 is provided in the light intercepting side of the transparent substrate 2. The re-reflecting layer 6 is integrally formed with the transparent substrate 2. The re-reflecting layer 6 comprises a plurality of pyramid-shaped protrusions 7, 9 or pyramid-shaped recessed parts 8. A pyramid is a square quadrangular pyramid, and its bases come into contact with each other. In the square quadrangular pyramid, the base is 10-100 μm long and its vertical angle is 20-150°. The pyramid is a cone, and the outside portions of a square inscribed in the base overlap with each other. In this cone, one side of the square inscribed in the base is 10-100 μm long, and its vertical angle is 20-150°. The re-reflecting layer 6 contains an ultraviolet interrupting material.
