Abstract:
PURPOSE: To configure a carrying system for reading an original with two rollers being a paper feed roller and a carrying roller and to simplify their drive system.
CONSTITUTION: A 1st planetary gear 14 and a 2nd planetary gear 30 are arranged around a sun gear 12 driven by a motor 10, and when the motor 10 is driven forward, the planetary gears 14, 30 mesh respectively with gears 15, 31 to drive a paper feed roller 2 and a carrying roller 4 to feed and discharge an original 1. When the supplied original reaches a read point P, the motor 10 is reversed to mesh the planetary gears 14, 30 with a circular-arc gear 19 and a gear 35 thereby driving the paper feed roller 2 and the carrying roller 4 again for the carrying of the original 1. When the tip of the original is caught by the carrying roller 4, a recessed part 20 of the circular-arc gear 19 is opposite to the planetary gear 14 to disconnect drive joint and then the paper feed roller 2 is set free from the drive.
