In an oscillating plate type compressor which is equipped with a communication passage 22 which communicates a crank case 8 accommodating an oscillating plate 10 with a suction chamber 13 and a pressure regulating valve 24 which is provided halfway the communication passage 22 and opens and closes the communication passage 22 in response to the variation of the pressure in the suction chamber 13, is provided, upstream of the pressure regulating valve 24, a static pressure pipe 70 which attenuates the pressure fluctuation in the crank case 8 acting on the valve body of the pressure regulating valve 24. When the pressure in the crank case 8 becomes unstable due to a high pressure pulsation or a blowby gas, since the pressure applied to the valve body of the pressure regulating valve 24 is attenuated by the static pressure pipe 70, a sudden change of the angle of inclination of the oscillation plate 10 does not occur.
