PURPOSE: To make transfer property of a dye accepting layer excellent even with temperature change of a thermal head and heat accumulation in a printer by forming, on one face of a continuous base material film, a peelable transfer dye accepting layer through a mold red-ease layer consisting of a hardened body of setting resin.
CONSTITUTION: A dye accepting layer transfer sheet is formed by providing a mold release layer 2 on a base material film 1 prior to formation of a dye accepting layer 3. The mold release layer 2 is made of a hardened body of setting resin. For the setting resin, a body which is cross-linked by cross linking agent, made of thermoplastic resin containing thermosetting resin, ionizing ray setting resin, cold setting resin, and functional group can be used. When the mold release layer 2 is to be formed out of these setting resins, cross linking agent, polymerization initiator, polymerization promoter, catalyzer, viscosity control agent, and extender pigment are added, and further, the mold release agent is added, as occasion demands. The base material film 1 is coated with coating liquid for mold release layer, heated, irradiated with ionizing ray, left as it is, and matured so as to form a desired mold release layer 2.
