To lower an upper limit of the number of revolutions of an alternator and to increase the number of revolutions of the alternator in the area in which the number of revolutions of an engine is low by using a driving mechanism constructed of two belts and an alternator pulley device.
In a variable transmission driving device which is installed in a rotary shaft and is driven by means of the first and second belts 12, 14, the first and second pulleys, which are engaged with the first and second belts 12, 14 and are provided with different diameters, are arranged. The first pulley 28 is installed in the rotary shaft 40 via a mounting hub 42 extended in the lateral direction from the first pulley 28. The second pulley 26 is installed in the circumference of the hub via a bearing/clutch mechanism 38. The clutch mechanism is engaged when the second pulley 26 starts to rotate at a speed higher than that of the first pulley 28. Therefore, when the first pulley 28 is rotated at higher speed than the second pulley 26, the rotary shaft 40 is rotationally driven by means of the first pulley 28, and when the second pulley 26 starts to rotate quicker than the first pulley 28, the rotary shaft 40 is rotationally driven by means of the second pulley 26 at a speed different from that for the rotational drive based on the first pulley 28.
