PURPOSE: To obtain an oxygen electrode and an oxygen sensor both of which can be prepared in a safe and easy manner and are prevented from the disconnection of wiring, by dividing a cylindrical container into two sections and providing an anode to the inner wall of one section while providing a cathode and an oxygen permeable membrane to a part of the side wall of the other section.
CONSTITUTION: A cylindrical made of a phenol resin provided with left and right hermetically closing covers 1a, 1b is divided into two to form semicylinders 1, 2. A silver membrane is formed to the inner wall 3 of the semicylinder 1 as an anode while a small window 4 is provided to a part of the curved surface of the semicylinder 2 and a platinum wire 5 covered with a resin is arranged to the small window 4. The semicylinders 1, 2 are combined as before and an electrolyte is injected in the cylinder from the gap between the platinum wire 5 and the small window 4 by using a syringe and lead wires 7, 8 are respectively led out from the thin silver membrane on the inner wall 3 and the platinum wire 5 of the small window 4. Further, an oxygen permeable membrane 6 is wound around the surface of the combined cylinder to be adhered thereto in a hermetically closed state. A liquid of which the concn. of oxygen must be measured is contacted with the small window part and measurement is performed on the basis of the outputs flowing through the wires 7, 8.
