Abstract:

PURPOSE: To exactly measure the charging amounts of a battery, and to exactly maintain battery information.

CONSTITUTION: A digitizer table computer 10 is provided with a main processor 22 connected to a service processor 24, and the service processor 24 is connected to a digitizer controller 26 and a power source sub-system microcontroller 28. The service processor 24 is provided with a battery gage having the residual amounts of power in a battery and a residual time until the power is cut by the present power consumption ratio as the contents. The residual power amounts in the gage are searched by tracing the consumed power, added power, and power lost in an 'off' period. A reference point for exactly estimating the residual time when the computer can be operated is searched by using the secondary derived function of a voltage versus time discharge curve.
