PURPOSE: To provide a corrosion resisting member, such as heat pipe, usable for a long period under a corrosive environment mainly of sulfuric acid dew point corrosion by coating a base material, composed of an Ni-base alloy containing Cr and Mo, with an Fe-base alloy containing Si.
CONSTITUTION: A base material, such as pipe, composed of an Ni-base alloy containing Cr and Mo is coated with an Fe-base alloy containing 14.5-30.0wt.% Si. Coating is done by means of thermal spraying. Respective contents of Cr and Mo components in the Ni-base alloy are regulated to the values in the range (the range of shaded part in a figure) satisfying, by weight percentage, 16.0≤[Cr]≤31, Mo≥0, 52≤2[Cr]+[Mo], and 398≥3Cr[Cr]+14[Mo]. By this method, the corrosion velocity of the corrosion resisting member can be regulated to ≤about 0.2mm/year. Moreover, the above Ni-base alloy can further contain one or more elements among Ta, Nb, and W by the amounts in the range satisfying 0.3≤[Ta]+[Nb]≤4.0 and 0.5≤[W]≤4.0 and can further contain Fe by the amount in the range satisfying 0.5≤[Fe]≤20.
