Abstract:

PURPOSE: To produce a packing band capable of securing the mechanical property required even when the continuous annealing is executed using the existing continuous annealing equipment by adding Ti to the C, Mn-added steel of a prescribed composition to rise the recrystallization temperature.
CONSTITUTION: The steel having the composition consisting of, by weight, 0.05-0.50% C, 0.5-2.0% Mn, ≥0.050% Ti, and the balance Fe is hot rolled at the coiling temperature of 400-600°C, cold rolled at thc draft of 240%, and annealed at the temperature of 600-700°C. The hydrogen content in the atmosphere gas is preferably ≤2% in executing the annealing. In this method, the packing band having the yield point and tensile strength of ≥80kgt/mm2, the elongation of 7-16% and the yield ratio of ≥90% can be obtained by using the existing continuous annealing line for the low carbon (extremely low carbon) steel.
