PURPOSE: To smoothly cut a film without the film being torn obliquely at the time of cutting the film by using a packing film to be easily torn in the transverse direction and by partially providing both ends of a storage carton with the sawtooth-shaped parts of a cutter.
CONSTITUTION: The title apparatus is composed of a packing film with the ratio (longitudinal/transverse) of a longitudinal film-tearing strength to a transverse one being 1.5 or higher and a carton 2 with cutter for containing the packing film. Further, the sawtooth-shaped parts of the cutter 1 are partially provided in the both end positions of the carton 2. When the end of a film having such tear properties is once fractured by the cutter 1 and thereafter torn in the manner of being lightly twisted by hand without the use of the cutter 1, the film is cut more smoothly and meets with less resistance than a film to be cut over the whole width dimension and no oblique tearing occurs. Also, because the length of the sawtooth part, where there is a possibility of a user being wounded in the hand by mistake, is reduced to a large extent and no sawtooth exists in the central part, where there is a high probability of a consumer holding the storage carton; it is also possible to improve safety.
