To provide a packing material for a dead pet animal body capable of keeping the dead pet animal body under owner's care for a long time until an owner is consoled when a pet animal is dead, and capable of holding a memorial service for the pet animal by solving such problems that the burial of the dead pet body under the earth causes environmental destruction, and that a wild animal such as a wild boar digs out the dead pet animal body to destroy even when burying the dead pet animal body without cremation, and to provide a method of packing the dead pet animal body using the same.

The packing material for a dead pet animal body is prepared by mixing a first pulverized matter having hygroscopicity and deodorizing property with a second pulverized matter having hardening-by-water-absorption property for hardening by containing water which is to be used by mixing with the first pulverized matter by a predetermined ratio. Thereafter, the dead pet animal body is packed with the packing material for a dead pet animal body as a whole, and further water is sprinkled on the packing material for a dead pet animal body having packed with the dead pet animal body. Then, the dead pet animal body is packed to entomb by curing until the packing material for a dead pet animal body is hardened.
