To obtain a panel device which is capable of projecting images making it possible to obtain bright medium contrasts and a projector using the same.

The panel device has plural reflection members which are arrayed at a prescribed pitch, light shielding plates which are provided with the openings arranged in correspondence to the respective reflection members and a drive means for changing the shapes of the reflection members. The quantity of the light passed through the openings of the light shielding plates of the luminous fluxes made incident on the reflection members and reflected by the same is controlled by changing the shapes of the reflection members by the drive means, by which image display is executed.
