To provide a paper carrying device capable of reducing manufacturing costs, being reduced in size, and forming images on both surfaces of paper.
This image forming device 1 includes a body 90 and a double-sided printing unit 100 (one example of the paper carrying device). The double-sided printing unit 100 includes a paper feeding cassette 103, a paper feeding unit 121 and a reversal roller 125. Paper 10 is fed by the paper feeding unit 121 from the paper feeding cassette 103, and the image is formed on its one surface by an image forming part 30 of the body 90. The paper 10 is carried via a second passage 127 and a third passage 129 by the reversal roller 125. At this time, the paper feeding unit 121 is displaced, and a switchback area is secured in the vicinity of the paper feeding cassette 103. The paper feeding unit 121 refeeds the paper to the image forming part 30 via a first passage 123 by reversing the obverse and reverse of the paper 10 by switching back the paper 10 by carrying it to the switchback area.
