In the both side parts of the paper diaper, a main tape member 6 is fixed to the surface of a back sheet 2 to protrude outward from the side edge, a subsidiary tape member 7 is provided between the surface of a top sheet and the inner surface side of the main tape member over its side edge with both ends fixed, and a hook element 8 of a surface fastener is fixed to an inner surface side part of the main tape member 6 where the subsidiary tape member does not exist, so the hook element 8 is detachably engaged with a hook receiving element of the surface fastener provided on the abdomen side when the paper diaper is set, and that the main tape member 6 is freely releasably engaged with the top sheet 1 at a position partly or wholly over the subsidiary tape member 7 as the product is folded inward.
