Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper feeder applicable to many sizes of narrow paper sheets without adding new expensive parts.
SOLUTION: The paper feeder comprises a bottom plate 2 on which the paper sheets are stacked, side fences 6, 7 (restricting members) for restricting the paper sheets stacked on the bottom plate 2 in their cross direction, and a size detecting sensor (detecting means) for detecting the size of the stacked paper sheets by recognizing the positions in the cross direction of the side fences 6, 7. A stopper 10 (a moving region restricting member) is provided for restricting the moving regions of the side fences 6, 7 so that the narrow paper sheets can be fed by properly removing the stopper 10, when passed therethrough.
