To enable fold-process of paper to be fold-processed with good quality free of wrinkles even if the paper is thicker than a specified value, and to widen paper-folding specifications as much as possible so as to correspond various paper sizes.SOLUTION: A paper folding device is configured such that paper is held on a conveying path, in a state where paper conveyance is stopped, with a folding plate, the part of paper intended to be folded is folded back towards the opposite position of the paper held on the conveying path, and meanwhile, a folding unit can be moved by sliding.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6
