Abstract:
PURPOSE: To produce a paper excellent in burst index, formation and electric insulation from an aromatic polyester and provide an efficient production process therefor.
CONSTITUTION: Island-in-sea fibers in which a fusible liquid-crystalline aromatic polyester is used as an island component and other polymers are used as a sea component are cut to less than 5mm long, or after cutting, the sea component is dissolved and/or decomposed off to prepare a pulp of 0.1-5μm fiber diameter. This pulp is used in an amount of 5-100wt.% to give the objective paper through the wet process.
