Abstract:
To reduce resource wastage and reduce costs and improve productivity.SOLUTION: The stitcher includes a reciprocating stitcher head and a wire feeder that feeds a wire to the stitcher head and performs wire binding of a paper bundle placed at a wire binding position in each cycle of reciprocating movement of the stitcher head. A stitcher control unit 50 includes: a determination unit 62 that determines, for each cycle of the stitcher head, whether or not the thickness information of the paper bundle to be wire-bound in the following cycle has been acquired: and a wire feed control unit 63 that controls the wire feeder so as not to supply the wire in the current cycle when it is determined that the thickness information of the paper bundle to be wire-bound in the following cycle has not been acquired.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 21
