To prevent upward deformation of paper sheets in an upper part of a sheet bundle in an edge thereof due to abutment of the edge of the sheet bundle on an abutment portion of a pressure-holding member, and further, to surely hold the edge of the sheet bundle with the pressure-holding member, in regard to a paper sheet conveying device of structure for moving the sheet bundle along a curved conveyance path, pressure-holding the edge of the sheet bundle.
This paper sheet conveying device for conveying sheet bundles along a paper sheet conveyance path provided with a curved conveyance path I comprises a holding member 40 for holding an edge of the sheet bundle S and moving it along the curved conveyance path. The holding member is structured of a guide member 41 supporting one surface of the sheet bundle, a movable member 42 supported freely to be opened/closed relative to the guide member 41 so as to pressure-hold an edge of the sheet bundle between the guide member, and an abutment portion 43 projected from the guide member so as to hold an edge of the sheet bundle, which is positioned between the guide member and the movable member, for positioning.
