To provide a means for stably accumulating a large number of bills and storing them in an ordered manner.

A paper sheet storage includes: first and second positioning plates 18 and 19 arranged on the front end side of bills discharged from a feed roller 12 of a stage 15 and configured to be turned in the depth direction of a storage box 10; a supporting belt 21 arranged on the side opposite to the bills accumulated on the stage; and a pressing belt 25 arranged to face the supporting belt 21 across the stage and formed of a resilient material. The pressing belt is configured to turn around a pulley 25b arranged on a back board 10b side. After the pressing belt is turned to the opposite side of the stage to accumulate a predetermined number of bills on the stage, the pressing belt is turned to the stage side to clamp the bundle of the predetermined number of bills between the supporting belt and the pressing belt. The bundle of bills is moved in the depth direction by turning the first and second positioning plates in the depth direction. After passage of the first and second positioning plates, the bundle of bills is stored on the depth side of the first and second positioning plates.
