PURPOSE: To perform separation smoothly and securely without causing a deviation in the accumulation section of paper money due to advance of a separated arrow which is in contact with paper money directly by providing a drive means which gives the separated arrow advance operation which is accompanied with up and down movement.

CONSTITUTION: A separated arrow 19 advances owing to rotation of a separated arrow forward and backward drive screw 31 in the condition where a lower finger 22 and a storage retainer 33 are overlapped integrally, and separates accumulated paper money 1 in the paper money storage section 11 of ten thousand yen paper money. When the advance operation is done, the separated arrow 19 advances while giving up and down movement to it owing to the up and down movement of the whole hand unit section 18 due to drive of an up and down drive motor 16. Consequently, accumulated paper sheets 1 which contact with the up and down face of the separated arrow 19 are not deviated.
