To provide paper and a support for an image recording material having high planarity and extremely excellent glossiness and to provide the image recording material having high image quality, ultrahigh glossiness and further excellent rigidity of an image forming surface after forming the image.
The paper is characterized in that the Oken-type smoothness S (s) in at least one surface of the paper and the density ρ (g/cm3) of the paper satisfy formula S1/2/ρ3≥15 in the paper containing at least base paper. The support for the image recording material is characterized in that the support is composed of the paper. The image recording material is characterized as having at least an image recording layer on the support and using the support for the image recording material as the support.
