Title:
PAPER FOR WATERCOLOR
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3653152
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain paper for watercolor having vivid color and good reproducibility of color by subjecting ramie fiber mercerized in tension-free state and having characteristics such as a specific swelling degree and exhaustion degree to mixed papermaking with chemical pulp.
SOLUTION: A ramie fiber is immersed in an aqueous sodium hydroxide solution having 150-350g/l, preferably 180-250g/l, more preferably 200-220gel concentration and subjected to mercerization treatment in tension-free state to afford ramie fiber having characteristics comprising 4-12% elongation, 5.0-6.O de average denier, 70-85% swelling degree (JIS L-1015) and 90-95% exhaustion degree of direct dye (JIS L-1015) and the ramie fiber in an amount of 5-95wt.%, preferably 10-50wt.%, more preferably 30-40wt.% based on total amount of the ramie fiber and the fiber is cut into a definite fiber length of 2-15mm, preferably 3-5mm, and 5-95wt.%, preferably 10-50wt.%, more preferably 30-40wt.% of the cut ramie fiber is added to the chemical pulp and ramie fiber is subjected to mixed paper making with the chemical pulp to provide the objective paper for watercolor.
